Laura Fraser (born 1961) is an American journalist, essayist, memoirist and travel writer. Her most recent book is ''The Risotto Guru'', published by Shebooks in 2013. She is based in San Francisco. == Childhood and education == Fraser was born in Denver, Colorado and grew up in Littleton, Colorado. Throughout her childhood she wrote for her school publications, and during her senior year of high school, she wrote a column for the ''Littleton Independent''. Fraser graduated from Wesleyan University in 1982 where she majored in American Studies and was co-editor of the ''Wesleyan Argus''.
